A New Blog and A New Start
Earlier this year I made a decision to get back into blogging. I guess that, as with many New Year Resolutions, it was made with good intentions. But didn't happen.
We have had a rough few years and life has been quite challenging - with teenagers getting into trouble, teenagers with health issues and teenagers presenting unimaginable troubles.
Life has settled down again - I think.
We are in the process of getting ourselves organised to our property in the Wide Bay area of Queensland. We have 55 acres there - about 45 minutes south of Bundaberg, near the little town of Childers. This was property we bought in 2008, where we intended to move. But life got in the way. As foster carers we would not have been able to take all the children in our family with us. We opted not to make the move.
The time has come for a fresh start and a new life. 2018 will be the year.
We are moving there, fixing our house here and putting it on the market. With the sale of our home here, we can build a new home up there.
Its an exciting and yet daunting time.
Over the last few years, two of our children have been very involved with swimming. That has lead me on the path of sewing most of my quilts by hand. It's been a whole new experience for me and one that I've really enjoyed. I have become far more productive without having to use a machine. Which is an interesting concept as the normal view of life is that we do everything faster by machine.
So this blog is going to be about my life from this day forward - with my quilts and my craft and moving to our new life near Childers.
The troubles of the last few years are now behind us. Moving onwards and upwards.
Cheers
Marg
